The Guns Issue: Call for essays
Posted on: Monday, March 11th, 2013
Memoir literary magazine is accepting essay submissions for a special issue devoted to the topic of guns. We believe this complicated subject, currently the focus of national dialogue, is worthy of discussion and exploration in a literary magazine. Essays may address any aspect of guns.
We welcome submissions in English from writers living anywhere in the world. Essays must be previously unpublished. Deadline for submission is midnight, June 5, 2013. Essays may be submitted online at http://www.memoirjournal.com. Instructions for submitting by regular mail can be found on our website.
We are also running an Editors’ Prize contest in addition to accepting general submissions. To be considered for the Editors’ Prize of $1,000, there is a $20 entry fee for each submission. Multiple entries are allowed; each essay is considered a separate entry and must be accompanied by the contest fee.
Submitters who do not want to be considered for the contest prize do not have to pay a fee.
